Knowledge - NEW KIT

I'm so exciting to announce the release of two new kits for Knowledge. This was so much fun to make. Using the Young Women Value, Knowledge, represented by the color Green, this kit has everything to do with education and gaining and increasing knowledge. I customized everything, including one of my favorite elements - the chalkboard with the YW value scripture. There is also a graduate girl face for every Young Women value: Faith, Divine Nature Individual Worth, Choice and Accountability, Knowledge, Good Works, Integrity and Virtue with their respective colors.

The Quick Pages, sold separately, coordinate with this kit and make life so easy as all you need to do is add your photos behind the empty spaces and you're done :)

(You will also find in my store archive kits for both Individual Worth and Integrity)

To purchase any of these kits, simply click the corresponding Add-To-Cart buttons found on the top-right side of this blog. You do not need to have a Paypal account to purchase through Paypal. All of these kits have been compressed using a regular zip program (I’m no longer going to use WinRAR to prevent any complications on your end should you not have that program). Preparing to Teach Others FREEBIE

The Young Women Manual 2 Lesson 19 is Preparing To Teach Others. As I prepared this handout I couldn't help but get excited for my daughter to have this lesson. My brother just returned from visiting in Brazil and he brought back for us a Book of Mormon in Portuguese. She was thrilled and is eating it up and planning to learn the language through reading and comparing the Book of Mormon with her English version.

Family history is another love of mine. I guess because it fits perfectly together with scrapbooking and journal keeping. I've worked on my family history over many years. It's a never ending and daunting project, but worth every minute.

Journals YW Handout FREEBIE

I have a testimony of keeping a journal. I love to keep a journal and I've come to realize the benefits to both me and my family for keeping it. I regret not keeping one during specific times of my life and had I done so I probably would have a best seller by now. lol. Despite that, though, it would have been and still is an invaluable keepsake for my family.

Recently, I was thinking about my journals. I keep everything in binders and the spine has the dates and name on the outside and are stored on a shelf in my front room alongside my scrapbooks. They are not hidden away where no one can see them, but on this shelf where everyone who comes into the house can see them, if they looked on my shelves. They would see that they are my journals and depending on what kind of person they are they could have a look at them. I thought about whether I wanted to keep them there or not because of this fact and decided that I don't have anything in there that everyone couldn't see. I may be a bit embarrassed about a few things and some of it's private, but nothing in it is so bad that I wouldn't want people to read them altogether. They are not secret, but they are somewhat sacred. They are my personal feelings and experiences that I intend to pass on to my children and their family when the time comes. My entries are really saved for them and not the world. Although, my journal isn't secret, it is a sacred record kept for a specific purpose and intended for a specific people. I know that most, hopefully all, people who enter my home would respect that sacredness. When I thought of this I realized the comparison my journals have to the Temple. It's not a place of secrets simply because we require a temple recommend in order to enter. But, it's a place of sacredness reserved for those who are worthy for a specific purpose prepared and intended for them. I thought I would share these thoughts with you. :)

Angel To Spare - Three New Kits

By request, I introduce three new kits based on the adoption of children and babies! I wanted to keep in mind that not all adoptions are of babies and have provided the option of children with these kits. There is one for each a boy and a girl. Then, there are the coordinating Quick Pages that cover both in one kit with six standard sized 12x12 pages, plus the same pages resized for letter-size layouts, along with eight brag book pages!

When you take a closer look, you will notice that there is a poem that are lyrics to a song. This song is entitled “Have You an Angel to Spare” by Marilyn Lanier, and it is an absolutely beautiful, soul gripping, and tear-dropping song. I’ve wanted to do something special with these lyrics for a long time and when I was requested to make an adoption kit I knew exactly how I wanted to make it. I have created an additional preview to show how this song’s lyrics are incorporated into each of the Boy and Girl kits, so please realize it’s not sold separately. You will also notice that it comes with the Quick Pages kit, too.

Although this kit was made with the adoption of either a child or a baby in mind, they would easily incorporate into all baby layouts. I hope you enjoy this kit!

Brag Book for Young Women Handouts

I've been thinking about placing the YW handouts in a 4x6 brag book. I wanted one that could hold an entire manual's worth of handouts. Unfortunately, it looks like the BB's we know of only hold 30-40 pictures. Bummer, that wasn't enough. Then, yesterday at Wal-Mart I came across this one pictured above, "Best Occasions Photo Album, holds 100 4x6 photos." It was only $3.00. I figured I could fit two years worth in there, or still one per manual since the girls rotate the same manual twice they would have room for more memorabilia all throughout YW. This one looks to be distributed only by Wal-Mart stores, so I looked online for a similar product and found one at Memory Scrap Books. This one comes in few different colors and styles - other than plain black/brown/blue found at wallyworld. Either way - it's a great find and a great way for YW to retain their 4x6 handouts - or fold other keepsakes to keep them altogether. :)
