Hello! Is everyone gearing up for the upcoming Thanksgiving Holiday?! I am. I get to spend some time with family that I don't get to see very often. I'm very excited about it, too. Of course, I have some more news from the book, "Help me! I have a Teenager!!!" by Annie Drake, MA, RN, CS, LMFT. Have you ever heard of an Eye Hug? It's a way to hug your teen during those years when they begin to resist our hugs and physical affection. Annie explains why this happens in the book. The Eye Hug is simply by looking into their eyes with the specific intent of giving them the Eye Hug. She also gives some other ideas when the hugging and kissing is not comfortable for them anymore. I thought the Eye Hug was a really cute idea. Today I have Page 7 of the Fall Bragbooks for you. It is the first in the series from the Counting Our Blessings Kit. It's purely coincidental that this set fell on the week of Thanksgiving. I really didn't plan it that way, but isn't is just sweet that it worked out like that?! You can grab it here for the next five days :)Fall Bragbooks Page 7 FREEBIE

Hi Again. Is everyone having a terrific Saturday. I love Sat's - It's a day usually without any plans. I have some more news from the book, "Help me! I have a Teenager!!!" by Annie Drake, MA, RN, CS, LMFT. Did you know that faking an opinion is not recommended by Annie. She says it's not honest or sincere and generally backfires. It's "better to accept your teenager's opinion as well as to acknowledge that you have a very different opinion. This allows your teenagers to be free to have their own ideas. What you offer is a chance for your young person to hear how a more mature person feels about the same idea." I've never faked an opinion with my teen, but I guess I could understand the temptation to avoid an argument or something. Anyway, I thought that was an interesting note to take :) Today's freebie is the final pages from the Falling Leaves kit, the Fall Bragbook Page 6. You can grab it here for the next five days :)Fall Bragbooks Page 6 FREEBIE

Just A Little Nutty

Hello everyone! Thanks for stopping by and taking a look around. I have some more news from the book, "Help me! I have a Teenager!!!" by Annie Drake, MA, RN, CS, LMFT. Do you know how to end a perfectly good conversation with your teen? Ending it with "I told you so". Annie says it's "a power move" and it destroys a good conversation. Instead, she recommends that once you've made your point (that is with your questions made during the no lecture method, leave your teen alone to absorb them and simply end with "thank you" if anything needs to be said at all :) Today's freebie is Fall Bragbooks Page 5 from the Falling Leaves kit. I hope you like it. You can grab it here for the next five days :)Fall Bragbooks Page Five FREEBIE

Hello again! I hope everyone is having another terrific week. I have some more news from the book, "Help me! I have a Teenager!!!" by Annie Drake, MA, RN, CS, LMFT. Did you know that sitting on the floor or going for a walk either around the neighborhood or the house is a great way to have a conversation with your teen?! This is especially recommended for those moments when things are a little heated. The reason for this is because while you sit on the floor you will calm down and it is hard to maintain an angry stance while sitting. It's would be an oxymoron - you can't have a stance while sitting. This is also great for siblings who are arguing. Have them sit on the floor to talk it out. She gives more in-depth advise on how to carry this out. Also, when you are walking around outside the conversations become less volatile. In fact, the two worst places to have a heated conversation with a teen is in our cars and homes. This is one reason she recommends leaving the house and going for a walk. It is a neutral place where we will less likely fall into programmed roles or patterned behaviors. She also discusses our teen's Emotional Climate which allows us to determine when and how to and not to talk with them. This is such an awesome chapter. It's so full of information I am taking notes left and right. So, today's freebie is Fall Bragbooks Page 4 and it's the first in the series from the Falling Leaves kit. I hope you like it. You can grab it here for the next five days :)Fall Bragbooks Page Four FREEBIE

Hi Everyone! First I want to thank everyone for your kind comments. I truly do appreciate them all. It's always nice to know that my designs and freebies are appreciated and usable. :)I'm still reading the book called, "Help Me, I have A Teenager!!" by Annie Drake, MA, RN, CS, LMFT. Did you know that teens need 15 hours a week spending time with us? They need as much time with us as they did when they were toddlers! Also, we make the biggest difference in their lives. Not their peer group, friends, boyfriend or girlfriend, or coach-teacher-leader because all of them can change at any moment. We are their only constant and despite how inadequate we may feel, or how they may appear to discount us, we are the most important person in their life. Isn't that reassuring? It is for me:) Today I have page 3 of the Fall Bragbooks for you. It's the final one representing the Night Owl kit. Grab your freebie here for the next five days :)Fall Bragbooks Page Three FREEBIE
