This week's Young Woman Manual 3 Lesson 06 Freebie is "A Woman's Responsibility To Teach" and was made using the kit "Table Teacher" found at Faith Sisters.

Elder Boyd K. Packer said: “Much of what we do is teaching. Showing a youngster how to tie his shoe, … helping a daughter with a new recipe, giving a talk in church, bearing testimony, conducting a leadership meeting, and, of course, teaching a class—all of this is teaching, and we are doing it constantly” (Teach Ye Diligently [Salt Lake City: Deseret Book Co., 1975], p. 2).

President David O. McKay said “The home is the first and most effective place for children to learn the lessons of life: truth, honor, virtue, self-control; the value of education, honest work, and the purpose and privilege of life. Nothing can take the place of home in rearing and teaching children, and no other success can compensate for failure in the home” (in Family Home Evening Manual, 1968–69, p. iii).

New Kits! Table Teacher!

The Table Teacher Kit is a school kit with a homeschooling twist. Homeschool moms most often teach from the dining or kitchen table, thus I dubbed them Table Teachers. This is a really fun kit with bright school colors. It comes with 12 papers, all shown in the preview. There is one ABC overlay not shown, but can be seen in the lower-case alphabet. There are a total of 42 individual elements (127 total after many have been duplicated through recoloring.) The tags include various subjects and each of the grades from pre-school through senior year. The school bus is a modified family car! The teacher at the school desk has books relative to homeschooling: Encyclopedia, Scriptures, Socialization. :) I couldn’t help but to bring Socialization into the kit because it’s the first thing we mom’s hear most often in connection with our choice to homeschool. More of the included elements can be seen in the coordinating Quick Pages and Brag Book pages.

The Table Teacher Word Art continues to focus on homeschooling. With field trips, socialization, school-bus and our love for homeschooling, these word arts will find many purposes. There are a total of six in 300 dpi.

The Table Teacher Quick Page and Brag Books sets allow for multiple photos to demonstrate and record those fun school moments. There are six 12x12 and the same in 8-1/2 x 11, 300 dpi quick pages and nine 4x6, 300 dpi Brag Books. Each set sold separately.

Table Teacher CU Layout Templates! This is my first attempt in creating layout Templates. It was a blast and I hope you like them, too. There are 4 PSD LO's in two sizes, 12x12 and the same in 8-1/2 x 11, 300 dpi templates. These were created in Photoshop CS4, only come in PSD format and are CU friendly.
